Design #6


In the proposed design #6 the following modifications respect to the original Minnesota Combination Bridge Railing (Design No.3 tested by MwRSF) were performed:

 

Ø      Grout pad eliminated

Ø      Curb at the bottom of the concrete wall eliminated

Ø      Concrete wall lowered from 20" to 17"

Ø      Smaller post section (TS 5x5x1/4 instead of TS 5x7x1/4)

Ø      Steel rail changed from TS 10x4x1/4 to TS 8x3x1/4

 

(Note: the distance of the steel tube rail from the concrete vertical edge is still ½ “ as in the original Minnesota barrier).

 

After the previous modifications, the barrier overall height was 32"
